The Old Course, opened in 1901, has all the character you would expect from a course with so much history. It has great variety, great views and is a great test for all abilities. The Wandlebury Course, opened in 1997, is longer than the Old Course and has USGA specification greens. From both courses there are panoramic views across Cambridgeshire. Directly north, Ely Cathedral rises out of the surrounding Fens.
The proximity of the Pre-Alps and the altitude (425 meters above sea level) allow our route to enjoy a pleasantly cool climate in the summer and never too harsh during the winter: our Club is in fact open all year round.
Royal Waterloo Golf Club is a welcoming family club for any Belgian or foreign golfer who, while respecting the rules of Club etiquette and the elementary rules of decorum, wish to share a few exceptional moments away from the rigors of daily life. The Club is located in the beautiful region of Brabant Wallonia, close to the famous Waterloo battlefield.
It is a unique, typically British course, very varied and hilly, allowing you to discover superb panoramas in turn: the ocean, the Nivelle, the port of Saint Jean-de-Luz and the Pyrenees.
The natural environment in which it is immersed is of undoubted beauty: the first path extends along the suggestive pine forest, the second, full of water obstacles, recalls the great American fields while the third is inspired by Scottish links. There is a Double Hitter Driving Range, two Putting Greens, a Pitching Green and three executive holes. The relatively mild climate of the Adriatic Riviera allows you to play all year round.
The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, it is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea. Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge. We hope you will enjoy the experience and treasure the memory.
French golfer Jean Garaïalde. You will evolve in a magnificent forest where maritime pines, oaks, chestnuts, birches and fruit trees rub shoulders.
Many visitors to Dumbarnie Links will be based in St Andrews, only 25 minutes away by car. That probably makes sense - for a golf tour St Andrews is pretty hard to beat. Have a look at my review of The Old Course for some tips of where to stay and some places to visit.
It's the timeless setting that makes Royal Dornoch such a pleasing place to play golf. It's wild, isolated and, at the same time, absolutely beautiful; there's the blaze of colour in early summer when the gorse is in flower. The pure white sandy beach divides the links from the Dornoch Firth and it all feels very humbling.
