Welcome to Willow Valley Golf, the Golf facility where you can experience golf’s future today. Our Premier Course, Willow Valley, host of the Yorkshire P.G.A Championship between 2001 and 2013 was voted the 9th best new course in the British Isles by Today’s Golfer. With 50 golf holes over 4 courses and a 24 bay floodlit driving range we are confident in saying that we have a golf course to suit all needs.
Founded in 1993 by the Newton family the golf facility has been developed in stages starting with the driving range and 9 hole Fountain Ridge course. In 1997 The Championship course Willow Valley was opened for play, this course was designed and construction overseen by Jonathon Gaunt. Then in 2007 we added a further 18 holes course, Pine Valley, preliminary sketches were drawn up by Gaunt & Marnock architects and the course was constructed by our own team.
Our Jewel in the Crown is the Willow Valley Course which has been designed to capture the imagination of golfers, ensuring members are never bored and visitors cannot resist the temptation to return and enjoy the fresh challenges thrown up by the course.
Designed to challenge the skill of the most experienced golfer, the Willow Valley Course is truly a masterpiece. Built to U.S.G.A standards the course is guarded by water on 11 of its 18 holes making the design unique in this fine golfing region. Water, a rock face, and a tree guard the green on the 6th hole making it difficult to get near to the pin to make par, while the island green on the 14th hole has the golfer deciding whether to lay up or go for it in regulation. Along side the water numerous bunkers and strategically placed trees make this a most interesting and picturesque course. Visitors are advised to allow between 4 to 5 hours to play the course.
