Hideki Matsuyama

Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama debuted at the Masters in 2011 as the current winner of the Asia-Pacific Amateur. After successfully retaining the title, he returned to Augusta National in 2012. The 29-year-old Matsuyama finished 10th in the tournament with four wins, as he finished in the top 15. The Masters will make its appearance. Matsuyama is a five-time PGA Tour winner and has nine international victories, eight of them in Japan. Matsuyama is the first Japanese amateur to qualify for the 2011 Masters Tournament. He made the cut in the tournament, the only amateur to do so, and won the Silver Cup, which is presented to the lowest scoring amateur.
Matsuyama turned professional in 2013 and was the first rookie ever to lead the Japanese Tour money list.
With his sight set in the United States in 2014, Matsuyama won his first PGA event at the Memorial Tournament.
Matsuyama is a six-time PGA Tour winner. In 2021, he became the first player from Asia to win the Masters Tournament.
